How to Do Philosophy

In his latest essay titled How to Do Philosophy, Paul Graham has taken the time to share some more of his insights with us. His main theme is that philosophy hasn't made much progress in the 2500 years since Aristotle! He doesn't dismiss Philosophy outright, just the approach that has been used by most philosophers up until today. His clear no-nonsense prose and ideas are like a breath of fresh air in stale smoke filled room.

Favorite quote when he's poking fun at philosophers:

The writing is the familiar word salad:
Gender is not like some of the other grammatical modes which express precisely a mode of conception without any reality that corresponds to the conceptual mode, and consequently do not express precisely something in reality by which the intellect could be moved to conceive a thing the way it does, even where that motive is not something in the thing as such.

This kid is out of this world

At 13 Anshul Samar has started his own company and received funding to the tune of $6.5 million!

His first goal is to teach children chemistry through a card game. And I think it's a great idea!

I believe playing is the most efficient way to learn. We start out learning that way as babies, so why should we ever stop using our ability to learn and have fun at the same time?

I loved the short video of the young CEO. It almost felt like seeing our future...
